Milne, A(lan) A(lexander)
(18 ene. 1882, Londres, Inglaterra–31 ene. 1956, Hartfield, Sussex).

Escritor inglés. En 1906 se unió al comité de redacción Punch; escribió una serie de comedias livianas y la memorable novela policial El misterio de la casa roja (1922). Durante este período escribió poemas para su hijo Christopher Robin, los que reunía en las colecciones Cuando éramos muy jóvenes (1924) y Ahora somos seis (1927), que se convertían en entrañables clásicos. Sus relatos sobre las aventuras de Christopher Robin y los animales de juguete Pooh, Piglet, Kanga, Roo, Tigre, Conejo, Búho y Eeyore forman parte de las obras inmensamente populares Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) y El rincón de Pooh (1928).
